Kirstie first graced our screens with the equally lovely Phil Spencer in Location, Location for channel 4 where the property duo helped people find their perfect house. Not only was the show great as Kirstie always got annoyed with the potential house buyers and told them when they were being "silly" or "unrealistic" - which is what we were all shouting at our screens! But Kirstie always had the most amazing outfits. Even when they were looking around the country for properties Allsopp always wore high heels. In the winter months she would wear coats in an array of colours with huge buttons in golds and reds. In the summer she wore the prettiest floral dresses and wrap dresses I have ever seen. Now Kirstie has gone solo and has her very own channel 4 show called "Kirstie's Homemade Home" where Kirstie is renovating her own property in Devon. In the show, Allsopp hunts for the "best of handmade inventiveness, design and craft" and visits auction houses as well as reclaiming and restoring pieces of furniture. She has so far learnt how to create homemade soap, candles, pillowcases and tablecloths.
If you like Cath Kidston, oilcloth and art deco vintage-ness this show is for you. If that does not get you salavating, Kirstie's fashion and clothing is even better than Location, Location. Floral shirts with full circle skirts, Floral Dresses, 1950s style dresses and cute cardigans- she is a vintage fashion lovers pin up.
Here at NB towers Kirstie Allsopp has been named our Vintage Fashion Icon.
