Video created by elegantly amused
As you all know I am hair handicapped and even though I have long hair...my hands let me down during the creation process and I cannot afford a professional to blow dry my barnet every day. So I have been using YouTube video tutorials. I find them really inspiring and I have been using them for a while now. They normally last for 5 minutes maximum and are a great way to give your hair a new lease of life. Whether you want a red carpet hair style, celebrity up do or a vintage inspired pin curl YouTube has the tutorial. You just need to search through the videos till you find the one you can work with.
I always like to share and recommend great online vintage finds and this is one of the best YouTube channels out there for vintage loving gals. The tutor is Casey Brown and she is behind the YT channel ‘Elegantly Amused’, where she shares her love of 1940s and 50s styling with tutorials about fashion, beauty and hair. The video I have added to my blog (above) is “How to create 1950s hairstyle: faux bangs and ponytail”. It is easy to re create with Casey and if you are stuck with the face you have then check out her other videos with vintage make up tutorials and beauty tricks and tips.
That's looks easy...but as you, I'm not very good at doing my hair in 50's style.... =(
