Everyone is blogging, vlogging, writing and talking about the Royal engagement and most importantly trying to hazard a guess at what Miss Middleton will wear on her special day. I have put together a collection of vintage royal wedding gown images for her to browse through when she finds a minute. My personal favourite is of course Grace Kelly...demure, royal and fit for a princess! What do you think?

all these ladies are knockouts and i love every one of their dresses!
ReplyDeleteespecially the first 4 pictures (love the earlier portion of the century look)
:]
I think the girl is dull as ditchwater, but hopefully she chooses a dress with sleeves as the ladies before her did. Too many chunky girls these days wearing strapless dresses on their wedding day, it just isn't a good look. If she can usher in a trend for sleeved wedding gowns, it would be a very good thing indeed.
ReplyDeletei loved princess margarets.. it was so classy not so sure of princess annes she was a bit frilly!!..
ReplyDeletei reckon kate will opt for a very safe option!
I have to say, I'm wth Penny Dreadful on this one. I'd like to see a bit of classic chic if I must, but I think they'll make her play it safe.
ReplyDeleteI like Princess Margaret's the best...Diana's was like a gigantic, creased duvet.
For Me Elizabeth II and Grace are on the mark for me. I have a feeling we are going to under-whelmed by Miss. Middleton dress though...

hahaha a creased duvet - so true! So everyone is not actually waiting on tender hooks like I thought? Mostly we all think we will be underwhelmed? What do you all think of the name change? I would of preferred Kat? No? (hee)
ReplyDeleteyou're so kind... i'm sure kate will totally appreciate your efforts. :)
ReplyDeleteGrace Kelly obviously comes out tops (as always), but I'm loving Margaret's too!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely and stunning wedding dresses. Most woman would like to wear that gorgeous dresses on their wedding day! Soft Surroundings Coupons
ReplyDeletethat isn't Princess Anne's wedding dress.
ReplyDeleteShe wore her hair up on her wedding day with a simple, beautiful tiara and her wedding dress was a simple A-line and very regal design in a plain silk, with medieval trumpet, over-sleeves over fuller, balloon-sleeves in chiffon if I recall right. The neckline was demure and highcollared, with thin pin tucks below.
Very suitable.
Very elegant. Much like the lady who wore it - wish she could be regent next!

ReplyDeletesee above for a close up
Cant wait to see what Kate Middleton's dress will be .... all above dresses are stunning but my fav ha to be Princess Margaret's 1960's wedding dress although the 40's and 50's are my favourite era's! :)
ReplyDeleteThat was Anne's engagement portrait, not her wedding dress (as someone already noted). I have to say, she looked quite beautiful -- I didn't recognize her the first time I saw that picture!
ReplyDeleteAll royal wedding dresses have something in common - the long sleeves.
